Product Overview

SW-100: Liquid Form-Fill-Seal Machine for Ice Pop Pouches

The SW-100 is a horizontal form-fill-seal machine that packages room-temperature liquid ice pop original into sealed pillow pouches. It forms rollstock film into a continuous tube around the liquid filling nozzle, doses a measured volume of liquid — fruit juice, flavoured sugar water, coconut water, dairy mix, or jelly solution — into each pouch, applies a two-stage end seal, and passes each finished pouch through a dedicated cooling station that sets the seal against liquid shrinkback. Customers receive pre-filled, hermetically sealed pouches ready to be loaded into a freezer tunnel or blast freezer on their own line.

The filling and cooling workflow is the core of the machine — not wrapping. Unlike the general-purpose SW-350A multifunctional pillow packing machine, which wraps pre-formed solids like biscuits or soap on a conveyor, the SW-100 uses a volumetric dosing pump, a two-stage sealing jaw to evacuate residual liquid before the final seal, and a liquid-specific cooling station to prevent seal failure from post-sealing liquid shrinkback. The rest of the mechanical platform — touch-screen PLC, servo-driven film pull, SUS304 stainless steel construction — is shared across the ShengWei pillow machine family.

For liquid filling into premade stand-up pouches or zipper bags, see the SW-Y200 premade bag liquid packing machine instead. For bulk liquid sachets on a vertical collar-type machine, see the SW-420F collar type liquid packing machine.

The SW-100 is a liquid-filling pillow pouch machine only — it doses flowable liquid into rollstock-formed pouches and seals them. For wrapping pre-made solid products (biscuits, candy, soap, hardware), see the SW-350A multifunctional pillow packing machine. For high-speed single-piece candy wrapping, see the SW-1200 three-servo machine. For bulk liquid sachets on a vertical collar-type machine, see the SW-420F collar type liquid packing machine.

Bag Format

Output Pouch Type: Sealed Liquid Pillow Pouch

The SW-100 produces one pouch format: a sealed liquid-filled pillow pouch — also called a flow pack pouch or fin seal pouch. Film is formed into a tube around the liquid filling nozzle, a back (fin) seal runs along the underside, a volumetric dose of liquid meters into the tube, and two-stage end seals close the front and rear of each pouch before the cooling station sets the seal. No pre-formed bag supply is needed — the machine forms pouches directly from rollstock film.

Compatible film: OPP/CPP · OPP/PE · PET/PE · NYLON/PE · PE. Because customers freeze the finished pouches downstream, PET/PE or NYLON/PE films with a cold-resistance rating are recommended so the frozen pouches stay flexible and do not crack when handled. Send your film sample for sealing parameter confirmation before production.

Note: This machine does not produce stand-up pouches, zipper bags, or flat-bottom bags. For liquid filling into those premade formats, see the SW-Y200 premade bag liquid packing machine.

Machine Operation

How the SW-100 Liquid Filling & Sealing Cycle Works

The entire cycle — film forming, liquid dosing, two-stage end sealing, cooling, and cutoff — runs continuously with no stop-and-start motion. At 200 pouches per minute, each pouch is formed, filled, and sealed in under 300 milliseconds. The cooling station is what makes the difference at high speed: without it, hot seals would shrink and crack as the trapped liquid equalised temperature.

01

Liquid Supply & Volumetric Dosing

Room-temperature liquid — fruit juice, sugar water, flavoured syrup, dairy mix, or jelly solution — is piped from your batching tank into the machine's liquid hopper at the rear. A volumetric dosing pump draws from the hopper and measures a precise fill volume for each pouch (adjustable from the HMI, typically 50–150 ml depending on pouch size). Fill accuracy holds to roughly ±1% across the full speed range, so product give-away is minimised even on long production runs.

02

Film Forming & Back Seal

Rollstock film unwinds from the rear of the machine and passes over a forming shoulder that wraps it into a continuous tube around the liquid filling nozzle. A heated fin-seal wheel joins the two film edges along the underside of the tube, creating a leak-proof back seal. The servo-driven film pull maintains exact print-mark registration so branded graphics — fruit illustrations, flavour names, nutrition panels — land in the correct position on every pouch.

03

Dosing Fill & Two-Stage End Seal

Each pouch is filled with the dosed liquid volume the moment its back seal is formed. A wire guide or push-bar system deflates residual air from the headspace, then two sets of sealing jaws close in sequence — the first pair evacuates any liquid from the seal zone, the second pair applies full heat and pressure to form the permanent end seal. This two-stage approach prevents trapped liquid from weakening the seal and is the key reason the SW-100 can run liquid at high speed without leakers.

04

Cooling Station, Cutoff & Discharge

Each sealed pouch passes through a dedicated cooling station that chills the hot end seal against a cool plate. This prevents the most common liquid-flow-pack failure mode: a hot seal that shrinks and cracks open seconds later as the trapped liquid cools and contracts. A cutoff knife separates each pouch, an optional date coder prints batch and expiry data, and finished pouches discharge onto the outfeed conveyor. The HMI stores 100 product recipes — switching pouch sizes or fill volumes takes under two minutes with no tool changes.

Machine Detail

Five Core Mechanisms Built for Liquid Pouch Filling

The SW-100 is built around five mechanical systems that determine fill accuracy, seal integrity, and uptime when running liquid into pillow pouches. Understanding these mechanisms helps you specify the right configuration for your ice pop, sugar water, dairy pop, or jelly stick production line.

① Touch Screen Control

A colour HMI displays packing speed, sealing temperature, pouch length, fill volume, and fault codes on a single screen. Up to 100 product recipes can be saved and recalled in seconds — no manual re-tuning when switching between pouch sizes or liquid types. Language and unit settings are configurable at the time of order.

② Volumetric Liquid Dosing Pump

A volumetric dosing pump is the key differentiator of the SW-100 compared to a standard solid-product pillow machine. Liquid is metered into each pouch through a fixed-volume cylinder — fill accuracy is typically ±1% of the target volume across the full speed range, so product give-away stays low on long runs. Pump capacity and filling nozzle diameter are sized during commissioning to match your liquid viscosity — thin juice, thicker syrup, or viscous dairy each require a slightly different setup.

③ Multi-Linkage Roll Film Shaft

The multi-linkage film winding shaft coordinates film unwinding and film travel simultaneously, keeping tension consistent across the full speed range. Smooth film walk eliminates wrinkling at the back seal and reduces film waste at high speed — particularly important for printed or registered films used on branded ice pop pouches.

④ Bag Deflation & Two-Stage Sealing

Before the final end seal, a wire guide or push-bar system deflates residual air from the pouch headspace so the seal zone stays flat and liquid-free. Two sets of sealing jaws then close in sequence — the first pair evacuates any liquid from the seal area, the second pair applies full heat and pressure to form the permanent end seal. This two-stage approach is the reason the SW-100 can seal liquid at full speed without leakers or burst pouches.

⑤ Dedicated Liquid Cooling Station

Immediately after the end seal forms, each pouch passes through a dedicated cooling station that chills the hot seal against a cool plate. This prevents the most common liquid-flow-pack failure mode: a hot seal that shrinks and cracks open seconds later as the trapped liquid cools and contracts. The cooling station is purpose-built for liquid filling applications — a feature not found on standard solid-product flow-pack machines.

Decision Guide

SW-100 Liquid Pillow Packer vs Other Machines — Which Do You Need?

Several ShengWei pillow packing machines share the same mechanical platform. The SW-100 is optimized for one specific application: dosing and sealing room-temperature liquid into pillow pouches that customers freeze downstream (or ship as non-frozen jelly sticks). Compare below to confirm it is the right fit.

Choose SW-100 When:

  • Your product is a room-temperature liquid — fruit juice, sugar water, flavoured syrup, coconut water, dairy mix, or jelly solution — that you will freeze downstream (or ship as non-frozen jelly sticks)
  • You need a volumetric dosing pump with ±1% fill accuracy plus a liquid-specific cooling station to set the end seal
  • You run at high speed — up to 200 sealed pouches per minute for small fill volumes
  • You want rollstock film economy — no pre-formed bag supply needed
  • Your target pouch size falls within L 40–140 mm, W 30–80 mm, thickness 5–30 mm (typically 50–150 ml fill volume)

Choose SW-350A/450A/550A When:

  • Your product is a pre-made solid — biscuits, bread, soap, pharmaceutical blisters, hardware
  • You wrap solid products on a conveyor infeed rather than filling liquid into the pouch
  • Your product is larger than 140 mm long or 80 mm wide
  • You need three model size options to cover a wider product range

When This Machine Is Not the Right Fit

The SW-100 fills room-temperature liquid into sealed pillow pouches only — it does not wrap solids, dose powder or granules, or form premade bag shapes. For wrapping pre-made solid bars, biscuits, or confectionery, use the SW-350A multifunctional pillow packing machine. For small individually wrapped candies, see the SW-1000A candy tray machine or the SW-1000B double material feeding machine. For high-speed single-piece candy wrapping at up to 1,200 pieces/min, see the SW-1200 three-servo machine. For bulk liquid sachets on a vertical collar-type machine, see the SW-420F collar type liquid packing machine. For liquid filling into premade stand-up pouches or zipper bags, see the SW-Y200 premade bag liquid packing machine. For granules on a collar-type line, see the SW-420A multi-head weigher model. For powder on a collar-type line, see the SW-420E auger powder model. For premade granule, powder, or vacuum bags, see the SW-D200 granule, SW-L200 powder, and SW-130ZK vacuum machines. For liquid-filled spout pouches, see the SW-CCS6 spout pouch filling and capping machine.

Client Feedback

What Our Clients Say

We bought the SW-100 to replace our manual filling line for fruit-juice ice pops. The volumetric dosing pump is very accurate — every pouch is within 1 ml of the target fill, and the two-stage end seal holds up perfectly after we freeze the pouches in our blast freezer. We run at about 130 pouches per minute on two shifts with a simple sugar water recipe, and the machine paid for itself in less than six months by replacing three manual filling and sealing stations.

Carlos M.

Production Manager — Frozen Confectionery Factory, Mexico

We switched from hand-filling to the SW-100 for our coconut water ice pop line. The biggest difference is consistency — every pouch gets exactly the same fill volume, the end seal is always straight, and the date code lands in the same position every time. Our rejection rate on the frozen finished goods dropped from about 5% to under 0.3%. The ShengWei team helped us dial in the sealing temperature and cooling-station time for our PET/PE film via video call before we even ran the first batch.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What products can the SW-100 pack?

The SW-100 fills room-temperature liquid into sealed pillow pouches — customers then freeze the filled pouches downstream to produce finished ice pops. Typical fills include fruit juice, juice concentrate, flavoured sugar water, coconut water, dairy and yogurt drinks, and jelly solution. Pouch dimensions: length 40–140 mm, width 30–80 mm, thickness 5–30 mm, with fill volume typically 50–150 ml per pouch. For general solid product flow wrapping (biscuits, bread, candy, soap), use the SW-350A multifunctional pillow machine instead.

Does the SW-100 freeze the liquid into ice pops?

No — the SW-100 only fills and hermetically seals room-temperature liquid into pillow pouches. Customers then load the filled pouches into their own freezer tunnel, blast freezer, or cold room to freeze them into finished ice pops. This split workflow is standard across the liquid flow-pack industry: the packing machine handles volumetric dosing and sealing, while the customer's freezer handles the temperature change. For best results, use a cold-resistant film (PET/PE or NYLON/PE) so the finished frozen pouches stay flexible and do not crack when handled, transported, or opened.

What film materials are recommended for ice pop pouches?

The machine is compatible with OPP/CPP, OPP/PE, PET/PE, NYLON/PE, and plain PE. Because the customer freezes the finished pouches downstream, we recommend PET/PE (higher heat resistance and cold tolerance) or NYLON/PE (superior oxygen barrier for extended shelf life). The sealing temperature, dwell time, cooling-station time, and jaw pressure are all adjustable via the HMI panel. We strongly recommend sending a sample of your rollstock film for a sealing test before production to confirm optimal parameters for your specific liquid.

What is the packing speed and what affects throughput?

The SW-100 runs at 20–200 pouches per minute. Actual throughput depends on pouch length (shorter pouches allow more per minute at the same film feed speed), fill volume (larger fills require a longer dosing cycle), and liquid viscosity (thick dairy or syrup needs a slower pump cycle than thin juice). Film type also matters — harder-to-seal films need longer jaw dwell time and a longer cooling-station hold. For a realistic output estimate based on your specific pouch size, fill volume, and liquid type, contact us with your target daily output.

How is liquid fed into the machine?

Liquid is piped from your batching tank or holding vessel into the SW-100 liquid hopper at the rear of the machine. A volumetric dosing pump draws from the hopper and meters an exact fill volume into each pouch as it forms. Hopper capacity, pump size, and nozzle diameter are specified during commissioning based on your target fill volume and liquid viscosity (thin juice, thicker syrup, or viscous dairy each need a slightly different setup). A sanitary quick-connect fitting lets you break the line for cleaning between flavour changes.

What is the lead time and payment terms?

Standard lead time is 20–30 working days after deposit confirmation. Payment: 30% deposit on order, 70% balance before shipment (T/T). Custom configurations — non-standard voltage, larger dosing pump capacity, factory-installed date coder, or other add-ons — may add 5–10 working days. Contact us with your requirements for a confirmed production schedule.

Can the voltage and HMI language be customized?

Yes. The standard voltage is 220V 50/60 Hz, which covers most global markets. Three-phase 380V configurations are available on request. The HMI touch screen supports English, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, French, and other languages on request — specify at the time of order. Both voltage and language should be confirmed before we begin production.

What warranty and after-sales support is included?

2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal operation and maintenance. Consumable wear parts (sealing strips, heating elements, cutting blades) are excluded from warranty. Spare parts ship from our Guangdong factory within 3 working days. Remote video technical support via WhatsApp or video call is free for the lifetime of the machine — not limited to the warranty period. On-site installation and operator training are available on request (travel costs quoted separately).

Can I send a product sample for a packing test?

Yes. Ship a sample of your liquid (juice concentrate, sugar water, dairy mix, jelly solution, or whatever you intend to pack) and your rollstock film to our Shantou factory. We will run a filling and sealing test on the actual SW-100 machine, record a video of the result, and share it along with the recommended dosing volume, sealing temperature, cooling-station time, and HMI recipe. We can also freeze a sample of the finished pouches in our test freezer and inspect the seal integrity after freezing, so you see the end-to-end result before you order. Contact us for the shipping address and instructions.
