SW-320D / SW-420D: Turntable Volumetric Cup VFFS
The SW-320D and SW-420D are collar type vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) machines with an integrated rotary turntable measure cup dosing system. Instead of weighing each dose, the machine uses interchangeable stainless steel volumetric cups mounted on a rotating turntable — product fills each cup by gravity, a leveling brush sweeps off the excess, and the cup discharges directly into the forming tube below. This volumetric principle delivers consistent fill volumes at very high speed with minimal mechanical complexity.
The turntable dosing system is the simplest and most cost-effective metering method for uniform, free-flowing granules where exact weight is less critical than consistent volume and high throughput. Typical products include sugar, salt, rice, beans, seeds, spice blends, pet treats, and small hardware. Two model sizes — SW-320D (bag width up to 150 mm, fill weight 10–100 g) and SW-420D (bag width up to 200 mm, fill weight 100–1,000 g) — cover everything from single-serve sachets to retail-size pouches. The SW-320D/420D volumetric cup system works best for uniform, free-flowing granules. Output Bag Types: 3-Side Seal & Gusset Pouches
The SW-320D/420D forms bags in-line from roll film using a triangular forming collar. The standard output is a three-side-seal bag — a back seam runs along one side, and horizontal cross-seals close the top and bottom. An optional gusseted bag device adds side gussets for increased volume. The turntable measure cup system is also compatible with multi-bag connected sachet output (e.g. 5-connected packs) for retail strip packaging.

Compatible film materials: PE, CPP, PET/PE laminate, aluminum foil composite, nylon laminate, BOPP, laminated paper rollstock. Aluminum foil laminates are recommended for moisture-sensitive products such as sugar and spice.

How the SW-320D/420D Doses, Forms, Fills, and Seals
The SW-320D/420D runs as a continuous-motion system — the turntable rotates to deliver a measured cup of product into the forming tube while the VFFS unit forms, fills, and seals bags without stopping. The entire process is automatic from film loading to finished sachet output.

Roll Film Loading
A roll of packaging film (PE, aluminum foil laminate, or CPP) mounts on the film frame at the rear of the machine. A servo motor pulls the film through dancer rollers that maintain constant tension. An automatic film-end stop halts the machine when the roll runs out, preventing unsealed bags. The SW-320D accommodates film up to 320 mm wide; the SW-420D up to 420 mm.

Bag Forming & Vertical Sealing
The flat film wraps around a precision-machined triangular forming collar, which folds it into a continuous tube. Heated vertical sealing rollers press and seal the overlapping edges to create the back seam. Changing bag width requires only swapping the forming collar — a 10–15 minute tool-free adjustment. An Omron rotary encoder tracks film position for consistent bag length control across every cycle.

Turntable Volumetric Cup Dosing
Product flows from the top hopper into the rotary turntable chamber. As the turntable rotates, each stainless steel measure cup fills by gravity. A nylon leveling brush sweeps excess product off the top of the cup to ensure a consistent fill volume. When a cup reaches the discharge position above the forming tube, it opens and releases the product directly into the bag below. Cup volume is fixed per set — changing the fill volume requires swapping to a different cup size (a 5-minute change). This volumetric dosing method is the fastest and simplest metering option for uniform granules.

Horizontal Sealing, Coding & Cutting
After each fill, horizontal sealing jaws clamp across the tube to create the top seal of the filled bag and the bottom seal of the next bag simultaneously. Jaw temperature, dwell time, and pressure are independently adjustable per film type via the HMI. A date printer (standard) codes batch number and expiry date onto each sachet. A cutting knife then severs the finished sachet — or, for connected strip packs, a perforating knife creates tear lines between bags instead of cutting them apart.

The SW-320D/420D is a self-contained unit: the turntable measure cup dosing system is integrated directly on top of the VFFS main machine.
