SW-1022: Vertical FFS for Triangle Bags
The SW-1022 is a vertical form-fill-seal machine engineered specifically for the triangle bag format — also called a pyramid bag or three-sided seal pouch. Film feeds from a rear-mounted roll, wraps around a purpose-designed triangular forming tube, and is sealed on three edges to produce a distinctive pyramid-shaped sachet that stands out on retail shelves and in impulse display racks.
Unlike conventional vertical packing machines that produce flat-profile back-seal or 3-side-seal sachets, the SW-1022 creates a three-dimensional triangular pouch with visible product through the film window. This format is particularly popular for candy, chocolate balls, coated nuts, loose tea, ground spice, seeds, and small pharmaceutical granules. The triangular shape allows the filled product to settle into a stable pyramid, giving each pouch a consistent, premium appearance.

How the Triangle Bag Forming Cycle Works
The entire forming-filling-sealing cycle runs continuously. Each triangle bag is completed in under one second at full speed. The servo-driven film pull and photoelectric tracking system keep print registration precise across the entire production run.

Film Unwind & Tracking
Film unwinds from the roll mounted at the rear of the machine. A photoelectric sensor reads the print registration mark on the film and adjusts the pull length in real time, ensuring every bag is cut at the correct position. Film width capacity is up to 220 mm, supporting bag widths from 25 mm to 140 mm.

Triangular Tube Forming
The film passes over a forming shoulder and wraps around a triangular-section forming tube — the core component unique to the SW-1022. The tube shapes the film into a three-sided profile instead of the conventional round tube used in standard vertical machines. A longitudinal seal runs along one edge to close the film into a continuous triangular tube.

Product Filling
Product drops through the triangular forming tube by gravity. The filling system — volumetric cup for granules, auger screw for powder, or vibration feeder for irregular pieces — meters the correct dose for each bag. A hopper above the forming tube holds the bulk product and feeds the metering system continuously. Filling accuracy depends on the feeder type and product density.

Three-Edge Sealing & Cutting
Heated seal jaws close across the triangular tube from three directions, creating the three sealed edges that define each pyramid bag. A knife built into the jaw assembly cuts between bags to separate them. The filled triangle bag drops onto the discharge chute. Temperature, jaw pressure, and dwell time are all adjustable via the touch screen to suit different film types and product weights.

The SW-1022 is built around four purpose-designed systems that differentiate it from conventional back-seal or 3-side-seal vertical machines. ① Triangular Forming Tube
The defining feature of the SW-1022. A precision-machined triangular-section forming tube replaces the round tube used in standard vertical machines. Film wraps around the three-sided profile, creating the pyramid bag geometry. The tube is removable for cleaning and available in multiple sizes to match different bag width requirements. Changing the forming tube takes approximately 15 minutes.
② PLC Touch Screen Control
A color touch screen displays packing speed, sealing temperature, bag length, and fault codes on a single screen. Product parameters can be saved and recalled for fast changeover between different SKUs. The PLC coordinates film pull, filling, and seal jaw timing in real time. Language and unit settings are configurable at the time of order — English, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, and other options available.
③ Interchangeable Filling Systems
The SW-1022 supports three filling methods depending on product type: volumetric measuring cups for free-flowing granules (candy, seeds, nuts), auger screw filler for fine powder (spice, coffee, pharmaceutical powder), and vibration feeder for irregular or sticky pieces. Switching between filling systems requires changing the dosing unit above the forming tube — the machine frame and control system remain the same.
④ Three-Direction Seal Jaw Assembly
Unlike conventional two-jaw cross-seal systems, the SW-1022 uses a three-direction seal jaw assembly that applies heat and pressure from three angles simultaneously. This creates the three sealed edges that define each triangle bag. Seal temperature, dwell time, and jaw pressure are independently adjustable for each sealing direction via the touch screen panel. The jaw set is designed for quick replacement when worn.

Triangle Bag vs Standard Sachet — Which Format Do You Need?
Both formats start from rollstock film and produce sealed pouches on a vertical FFS machine. The key difference is bag geometry: the SW-1022 creates pyramid-shaped bags; standard machines create flat sachets. Choose based on your product type, target market, and retail display requirements.
