Product Overview

SW-1200: Three Servo High Speed Candy Pillow Packing Machine

The SW-1200 is a high speed horizontal form-fill-seal machine engineered specifically for individual candy wrapping. Unlike general-purpose pillow pouch packing machines that rely on manual product placement, the SW-1200 integrates an 840 mm diameter rotary candy sorting tray that automatically aligns and feeds individual candies into the wrapping station — no operator hand-placement required. The machine wraps each piece in a pillow pouch at speeds from 50 to 1,200 pieces per minute, making it the fastest single-unit wrapper in the ShengWei pillow packing range.

Three independent servo motors are the defining feature: one controls film pulling, one controls film feeding, and one drives the rotary end seal cutter. This three-servo architecture allows each axis to be tuned independently via the HMI — so the film tension, feed rate, and cutting timing can be optimised for different candy sizes and film types without mechanical linkage compromises. The result is more consistent seal quality and less film waste at high speed compared to single-servo or belt-driven machines.

The machine handles disc-shaped, ball-shaped, oval, cylindrical, and waist-shaped candies — including gummy bears, hard-boiled sweets, toffee, chocolate pieces, caramel, and jelly candy. Standard equipment includes a CPU control system, three PID temperature controllers (horizontal pre-seal, horizontal seal, and vertical seal), photoelectric colour-mark tracking, and a stainless steel finished product conveyor. Film compatibility covers OPP, CPP, PET, aluminium-plated film, aluminium-plastic laminate, and wax paper.

The SW-1200 wraps individual small items only — it is not designed for multi-piece bags, powder, or liquid products. For multi-piece bags of candy or granules, see the collar type packing machine family — including the multi-head weigher model (SW-420A). For premade stand-up pouches, see the premade bag packing machine family.

Bag Format

Output Bag Type: Twist-Wrap & Pillow Pouch

The SW-1200 produces individually wrapped pillow pouches from rollstock film. Each candy is enclosed in a single-portion pouch with end seals and a back seal, formed directly on the machine. Bag length is adjustable from 48 mm to 95 mm via the HMI — short enough for a single gummy bear, long enough for a wrapped toffee bar.

Machine Operation

How the High Speed Candy Wrapping Cycle Works

The entire wrapping cycle — from candy entry on the sorting tray to sealed pillow pouch discharge — runs continuously at up to 1,200 pieces per minute. All four stages operate simultaneously, with the three servo motors synchronised by the CPU controller.

Step 1: Candy feeding by rotary sorting tray

1. Feeding by Sorting Tray

Step 2: Automatic roll film wrapping

2. Automatic Roll Film Packing

Step 3: Cutter sealing — end seal and bag separation

3. Cutter Sealing

Step 4: Finished individually wrapped candy in pillow pouch

4. Finished Product

01

Candy Feeding by Sorting Tray

Bulk candy is loaded into the vibration feeder hopper, which delivers a steady stream of individual pieces onto the 840 mm diameter rotary sorting tray. The tray has custom-machined mold cavities that accept one candy each. As the tray rotates, four brush groups sweep excess candy back to the hopper and ensure every cavity holds exactly one piece. Brush type — scrubbing, soft, or silicone — is selected based on candy hardness and surface sensitivity.

02

Automatic Film Forming & Back Seal

Rollstock film unwinds from the rear-mounted film roll and passes through the servo-driven film feed system. A high speed photoelectric colour-mark sensor detects the print registration mark on each bag pitch, and the servo adjusts film advance in real time to maintain accurate graphics positioning. The film wraps around each candy at the forming shoulder, and a heated fin seal wheel creates the continuous back seal along the underside of the film tube.

03

Three-Stage Sealing

Unlike single-seal machines, the SW-1200 uses a three-stage heat seal system managed by three independent PID temperature controllers: horizontal pre-seal (initial pressure + moderate heat), horizontal seal heating (full seal temperature for bond strength), and vertical seal (back seal reinforcement). This staged approach prevents film burn-through on thin OPP at high speed while ensuring complete seal integrity on thicker aluminium laminates.

04

Rotary Cutting & Discharge

A servo-driven rotary cutter separates each finished pillow pouch from the film tube. The third servo motor controls cutter speed independently — allowing the cut timing to be fine-tuned without affecting film feed or pull tension. Wrapped candy discharges onto a stainless steel finished product conveyor for downstream quality inspection, metal detection, or carton packing.

Machine Detail

Four Core Mechanisms That Enable 1,200 pcs/min

The SW-1200 achieves its speed through four interconnected mechanical systems — each purpose-built for high speed candy wrapping. Understanding these mechanisms helps you specify the right tray mold, brush type, and film parameters for your product.

① 840 mm Rotary Candy Sorting Tray

A large-diameter stainless steel tray with custom-machined mold cavities rotates continuously, receiving candy from the vibration feeder. Four brush groups (scrubbing, soft, or silicone — selected per candy type) sweep excess pieces back into the hopper and ensure one candy per cavity. The mold is manufactured to match your specific candy shape — disc, ball, oval, cylinder, or waist — and can be swapped in under 10 minutes when switching products.

② Three Independent Servo Motors

Film pull, film feed, and rotary cutter each have their own servo motor, controlled independently by the CPU. This eliminates the mechanical linkage that limits speed in single-servo machines. Each axis can be fine-tuned on the HMI — adjusting film tension without affecting cut timing, or changing cutter speed without shifting print registration. The three-servo architecture is the primary reason the SW-1200 maintains seal quality at speeds above 800 pcs/min where single-servo machines begin to degrade.

③ High Speed Photoelectric Colour-Mark Tracking

A high speed photoelectric sensor reads the colour mark on each bag pitch in real time and adjusts the servo film pull within the same cycle. At 1,200 pcs/min the film advances more than 20 times per second — the sensor response time is fast enough to correct registration errors before they propagate to the next bag. This is critical for printed films with brand graphics, batch codes, or regulatory marks that must align with the seal position.

④ Rotating Constant-Temperature End Seal

The rotary end seal jaws operate at constant temperature rather than cycling heat between bags. Combined with the three-stage PID system (pre-seal + seal + vertical seal), this ensures the first bag has the same seal strength as the millionth. The embossing pattern is standard; custom seal patterns and tooling for twist-wrap or fold-wrap are available on request for specific candy applications.

Decision Guide

SW-1200 vs General-Purpose Pillow Packing Machine — Which Do You Need?

Both machine types produce pillow pouches, but they serve very different production scenarios. The SW-1200 is a dedicated high speed single-piece candy wrapper; the SW-350A is a versatile general-purpose flow wrapper.

Choose SW-1200 (High Speed Candy) When:

  • You wrap individual candy pieces — gummy, hard candy, toffee, chocolate, caramel
  • You need speeds above 500 pieces per minute on a sustained basis
  • You want automatic feeding — no manual product placement by operators
  • Your products are small (bag length 48–95 mm) and uniform in shape
  • You run single-SKU high volume candy production lines

Choose SW-350A (General Purpose) When:

  • Your products are larger — biscuits, bread, soap, medicine blisters, industrial parts
  • You need product length range up to 500 mm
  • You run multiple product types with frequent SKU changes
  • Manual or robot-assisted product placement suits your production volume
  • Speed requirements are under 200 bags per minute

When This Machine Is Not the Right Fit

The SW-1200 wraps individual small candy and confectionery pieces only. For multi-piece bags of candy or granules, use the collar type packing machine family — including the multi-head weigher model (SW-420A) and the measure cups model (SW-320D/420D). For larger solid products like bread or soap, use the SW-350A multifunctional pillow packing machine or the SW-350B film beneath feeding model. For premade pouches, use the premade bag packing machine family — including the granule model (SW-D200) and powder model (SW-L200).

Client Feedback

What Our Clients Say

We installed the SW-1200 for individually wrapping our gummy vitamin products. The three-servo system is noticeably more stable than the single-servo machine we replaced — we run at 900 pieces per minute on OPP/CPP film and the print registration has been accurate from day one. The custom silicone brush was the right call for our soft gummy — no product damage. The remote support team walked us through the sealing temperature setup on WhatsApp during commissioning.

Ibrahim A.

Production Manager — Confectionery & Vitamin Gummy Factory, UAE

We use the SW-1200 for hard candy wrapping on a two-shift schedule. The 840 mm sorting tray handles our disc-shaped candy perfectly — one operator loads the hopper every 15 minutes and the machine runs itself. We replaced three operators and a manual wrapping station. The tray mold change takes about 8 minutes, which lets us switch between our round and oval candy shapes without losing a full shift.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What candy shapes can the SW-1200 handle?

The SW-1200 handles disc-shaped, ball-shaped, oval, cylindrical, and waist-shaped candy pieces. The 840 mm sorting tray uses custom-machined mold cavities manufactured to match your specific candy geometry — so the tray accepts one piece per cavity regardless of shape. Food-grade plastic molds and aluminium molds are both available; the engineering team will recommend the right material based on your candy hardness, surface texture, and production volume.

What does "three servo motor" mean and why does it matter?

Most pillow packing machines use a single servo motor that drives film pull, film feed, and cutter through mechanical linkages. The SW-1200 uses three independent servo motors — one for each function. This means each axis can be tuned separately on the HMI without affecting the others. At high speeds (above 800 pcs/min), mechanical linkage introduces timing drift that degrades seal quality and print registration. Three-servo control eliminates this problem, which is why the SW-1200 maintains consistent seal quality at speeds where single-servo machines begin to produce rejects.

What is the actual packing speed for my product?

The machine specification is 50–1,200 pieces per minute. Actual speed depends on candy size (smaller candy = faster), candy shape complexity (simple disc is faster than irregular waist-shape), film type (thinner OPP runs faster than thick aluminium laminate), and bag length (shorter bags = more bags per minute). Hard candy at 5–10 g typically runs at 900–1,100 pcs/min. Gummy candy at 3–8 g runs at 700–900 pcs/min. Chocolate pieces run at 500–700 pcs/min due to softer handling requirements. Contact us with your candy dimensions and target output for a realistic speed estimate.

What film materials are compatible?

The machine is compatible with OPP, CPP, PET, aluminium-plated film, aluminium-plastic laminate, and wax paper. The three PID temperature controllers (horizontal pre-seal, horizontal seal, vertical seal) can be set independently for each film type, so switching from thin OPP to thick aluminium laminate does not require mechanical changes — only temperature parameter adjustment on the HMI. We recommend sending a film sample for sealing test before production to confirm optimal parameters.

How does the candy sorting tray work?

Bulk candy is loaded into a vibration feeder hopper above the sorting tray. The vibrator delivers a steady stream of individual pieces onto the 840 mm diameter rotating tray, which has custom-machined mold cavities matching your candy shape. As the tray rotates, four brush groups sweep candy into the cavities — excess pieces are brushed back into the hopper. Each cavity holds exactly one piece, which drops from the tray exit onto the infeed conveyor for wrapping. The brush type is selected based on your candy: scrubbing brush for hard candy, soft brush for chocolate, silicone brush for gummy or sticky surfaces.

How long does it take to change the tray mold for a different candy?

A mold changeover takes approximately 8–10 minutes. The tray mold is secured by quick-release clamps — no tools required for standard changeovers. If you produce multiple candy shapes, we recommend ordering additional tray molds at the time of machine purchase (one mold per candy shape). Each mold is custom-manufactured to your candy dimensions at our factory.

What is the lead time and payment terms?

Standard lead time is 25–35 working days after deposit confirmation, including custom tray mold manufacturing. Payment: 30% deposit on order, 70% balance before shipment (T/T). If you need additional tray molds for multiple candy shapes, add 3–5 working days per mold. Contact us with your candy samples and requirements for a confirmed production schedule.

What warranty and after-sales support is included?

2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal operation and maintenance. Consumable wear parts (sealing strips, heating elements, cutting blades, tray brushes) are excluded from warranty. Spare parts and replacement tray molds ship from our Guangdong factory within 3 working days. Remote video technical support via WhatsApp or video call is free for the lifetime of the machine — not limited to the warranty period. On-site installation and operator training are available on request (travel costs quoted separately).

Can I send a candy sample for a wrapping test?

Yes. Ship a sample of your candy (at least 500 pieces of each shape) and your rollstock film to our Shantou factory. We will manufacture a test mold, run a wrapping test on the actual SW-1200, record a video of the result, and share it along with the recommended machine settings, speed parameters, and brush type selection. This is the most reliable way to confirm machine suitability and achievable speed before placing an order. Contact us for the shipping address and instructions.

Can the voltage and HMI language be customised?

Yes. The standard voltage is 220V 50/60 Hz, suitable for most global markets. The HMI touch screen supports English, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, French, and other languages — specify at the time of order. Both voltage and language should be confirmed before production begins, as changes after manufacturing require additional lead time.
