What’s the difference between 4-side seal and stick pack?
"Stick packs" are long, narrow single-serve sachets for instant coffee, electrolyte sticks, and sugar sticks. They are commonly formed with a back seal plus top and bottom seals — the ten-lane SW-B10 runs back-seal sticks. A 4-side seal stick, like those from the six-lane SW-C6, is sealed on all four edges; the same 4-side seal format also makes square sachets (6×8 cm sauce, condiment).
How does 4-side seal differ from 3-side seal in production?
4-side seal uses two separate film webs (front + back) sealed together on all four edges, while 3-side seal uses one film web folded over itself with the fold becoming one of the four edges. 4-side seal gives a flat printable surface on both faces (better for branding) while 3-side seal uses less film. SW-C6 6-column reaches a maximum of 200–300 sticks/min for the whole machine. SW-1528 single-lane reaches a maximum of 60–100 sachets/min, with a broader bag-width range up to 140 mm. Pick SW-C6 when you have a single high-volume small-fill SKU (instant coffee, electrolyte stick) where parallelizing 6 lanes makes economic sense; pick SW-1528 for general-purpose 4-side seal at moderate volume with format flexibility.
