Product Overview

SW-A6: Six-Lane High-Output Sachet Platform

The SW-A6 is a vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) machine with six parallel lanes. Each cycle produces six 3-side seal sachets simultaneously — film unwinds from a single roll, is cut into six strips by a longitudinal slitter, formed into six pouches, dosed with product, and sealed on three sides (two vertical side seals plus one horizontal end seal per sachet). At 200–300 cycles per minute, the combined throughput is 1,200–1,800 finished sachets every minute, equivalent to roughly 720,000 sachets in an 8-hour shift.

The filling system is selected by product type at time of order: piston pump dosing for liquids and sauces, auger screw dosing for dry powder, and volumetric cup dosing for free-flowing granules. Typical applications include ketchup, jam, honey, sauce, salad dressing, coffee, sugar, salt, MSG, seasoning, and pharmaceutical portion packs. Fill volume is 5–30 ml per sachet; bag width is 30–100 mm; bag length is 50–150 mm.

A PLC with touch screen HMI coordinates film feed, dosing, sealing, and cutting. Temperature controllers manage each sealing zone independently so operators can tune seal quality for different film structures — OPP/CPP, PET/PE, or NYLON/PE. All product contact surfaces are 304 stainless steel. For a 10-lane back seal stick sachet machine, see the SW-B10 ten-column machine. For single-lane liquid sachets with larger fill volume, see the SW-420F collar type liquid machine.

Bag Format

Output Bag Type: 3-Side Seal Small Portion Sachet

The SW-A6 produces a single bag format: the 3-side seal sachet — two vertical side seals plus one horizontal end seal per sachet. Film is unwound from one master roll, slit into six ribbons by longitudinal knives, and formed into six parallel sachet channels. Six 3-side seal sachets are produced in every cycle. This format is the industry standard for single-use condiment, coffee, sugar, and pharmaceutical portion packaging.

Compatible film: OPP/CPP · PET/PE · NYLON/PE · aluminum foil laminate · plain PE. The machine runs rollstock film only — no pre-formed sachet supply needed. Send your film sample for sealing temperature and dwell time confirmation before production.

Note: This machine produces 3-side seal sachets only. For back seal stick sachets, see the SW-B10 ten-column back seal machine. For 4-side seal sachets, the SW-C6 six-column four-side-seal machine is the matched alternative. For stand-up pouches, see the SW-Y200 premade bag liquid machine.

Machine Operation

How the Six-Lane Cycle Works

Each cycle on the SW-A6 produces six finished sachets simultaneously. The four-stage cycle — unwinding, forming, dosing, sealing — runs continuously at 200–300 cycles per minute. Operators interact with the machine through one touch screen HMI; all six lanes are controlled together.

01

Film Unwind & Slitting

Film unwinds from a single master roll mounted at the rear of the machine. Five longitudinal knives cut the film into six equal ribbons. Each ribbon feeds to its own forming station. Servo-driven film pull maintains consistent tension across all six lanes so cut lengths stay uniform throughout a production run.

02

Pouch Forming & Side Sealing

Each ribbon passes over a forming collar that shapes it into an open-top sachet channel. Heated vertical seal bars close the two side seams of each sachet, creating the left and right seals of the 3-side seal bag. Temperature controllers maintain a stable set point per lane so seal strength is consistent across all six sachets.

03

Dosing & Fill

The selected dosing system — piston pump for liquid, auger screw for powder, volumetric cup for granule — delivers the target fill volume to all six sachets simultaneously. Fill accuracy is typically within ±1% for free-flowing products. Fill volume is adjustable from the HMI panel; the same machine can run different fill weights for different SKUs by recipe recall.

04

End Seal & Cut-Off

Horizontal heated jaws close across all six lanes, forming the top and bottom end seals simultaneously. A knife built into the jaw set cuts between each sachet pair to separate finished sachets from the continuous film web. Completed sachets drop onto the outfeed conveyor for downstream collection, date coding, or cartoning.

Five Design Features That Drive Six-Lane Reliability

Multi-lane machines are only as stable as their weakest lane. The SW-A6's design addresses the five mechanical areas that determine lane-to-lane consistency and long-term uptime on high-volume portion-pack production.

① Configurable Filling System

Piston pump, auger screw, or volumetric cup — the dosing module is specified at time of order to match your product. All three options meter simultaneously into six lanes from one central reservoir. Changeover to a different product within the same dosing family is recipe-driven from the HMI.

② Independent Temperature Control

Each sealing zone has its own controller and thermocouple. Side seal bars, end seal jaws, and the film-pull area can be tuned independently. This is critical when switching between OPP/CPP, PET/PE, and aluminum foil laminate — each film has a different optimal sealing temperature window.

③ Six-Column Forming Tubes

Six parallel forming collars shape six ribbons of film into six sachet channels. Tube geometry is matched to your bag width (30–100 mm) at time of order. Forming quality directly determines seal quality and sachet appearance on all six lanes — the forming stage is where multi-lane consistency is won or lost.

④ Touch Screen HMI & PLC Control

One HMI controls all six lanes — cycle speed, sealing temperature, fill volume, bag length, and fault codes are on a single screen. Product recipes are saved so operators can switch between SKUs without manually re-entering parameters. Language and unit settings are configured at time of order.

⑤ Servo Film Pull & Photocell Registration

A servo-driven film pull advances the film a precise distance each cycle for accurate bag length. A photocell reads the print registration mark on the film and automatically adjusts pull length to keep printed graphics aligned on the sachet face. Film waste is minimized even at maximum speed.

Decision Guide

Is a Six-Lane Machine Right for Your Product?

The SW-A6 is a specialized high-throughput platform for small-portion sachets. It is the right choice only when your combination of fill volume, bag format, and daily output volume justifies the six-lane architecture. Below is a decision framework to confirm fit.

Choose the SW-A6 When:

  • Your output is a flat 3-side seal sachet for food-service portion packs — ketchup, soy sauce, mustard, salt, sugar, MSG, hotel amenity, airline catering, fast-food condiment
  • Film cost is a primary constraint — single-roll feed and 3-side seal use less film per sachet than the dual-film SW-C6 (right pick for high-volume disposable condiment economics)
  • Product is a robust free-flowing liquid, powder, or granule — not oxygen-sensitive or barrier-critical (use the SW-C6 for those)
  • Bag width is 30–100 mm and fill volume is 5–30 ml — typical condiment / sugar / salt portion range
  • Daily output is high (300,000+ sachets per shift) and bag format is stable across SKUs — sachet dimensions do not change frequently

Choose a Different Machine When:

When This Machine Is Not the Right Fit

The SW-A6 is not suitable for highly viscous pastes, sticky or stringy materials, irregular large granules, or products that bridge in a feeder hopper. Multi-lane dosing depends on even product distribution from a central reservoir — if the product does not flow consistently, one or more lanes will under- or over-fill. For sticky or viscous products, consider the SW-Y200 premade bag liquid machine (larger bags with dedicated pump). For irregular granules needing multi-head weigher accuracy, use the SW-420A multi-head weigher machine. For vacuum packaging or barrier-sensitive products, use the SW-130ZK/160ZK vacuum machine.

Client Feedback

What Our Clients Say

We ordered the SW-A6 for packing 20 ml strawberry jam sachets for hotel breakfast service. The machine holds six lanes very stably — we see less than 2% fill variance between lanes at production speed. We run around 1,400 sachets per minute in practice, which is about 85% of the theoretical maximum. The piston pump module handles our jam viscosity well; the only tuning we needed was the end-seal temperature for our PET/PE film.

Fatima K.

Production Supervisor — Hotel Amenity Supplier, UAE

The SW-A6 replaced three single-lane coffee stick machines on our production floor. The footprint is much smaller and we only train operators on one HMI instead of three. Output is higher and film waste is lower — one central film roll for six sachets is more efficient than six separate rolls. ShengWei's remote support helped us set up the recipe for our 5 g instant coffee stick within two days of installation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What products can the SW-A6 pack?

The SW-A6 packs free-flowing liquids, powders, and granules in small portion sachets — 5–30 ml fill volume per sachet. Typical applications include ketchup, jam, honey, mustard, mayonnaise, salad dressing, hot sauce, soy sauce, instant coffee, sugar, creamer, salt, MSG, seasoning powder, pharmaceutical powder and liquid portion packs, and daily care liquid samples. The dosing system (piston pump, auger screw, or volumetric cup) is selected by product type at time of order. The machine is not suitable for highly viscous pastes, sticky materials, or irregular large granules that cannot flow evenly through a six-lane manifold.

What bag format does this machine produce?

The SW-A6 produces 3-side seal sachets — two vertical side seals plus one horizontal end seal per sachet. Bag dimensions are 30–100 mm wide by 50–150 mm long. Six sachets are produced simultaneously per cycle. This format is industry-standard for single-use condiment packs, instant coffee sticks, seasoning sachets, and pharmaceutical portion packs. For back seal stick sachets, the SW-B10 ten-column machine is the matched alternative. For 4-side seal sachets, the SW-C6 six-column four-side-seal machine is the matched alternative.

How many sachets per minute can the SW-A6 produce?

The SW-A6 runs 200–300 cycles per minute, and each cycle produces six sachets — so the combined output is 1,200–1,800 finished sachets per minute. In an 8-hour production shift at steady state, expected output is around 720,000 sachets. Actual throughput depends on product viscosity (thicker liquids slow the fill cycle), bag length (longer bags use more film per cycle), and film type (thicker films need longer seal dwell time). For a realistic output estimate, send us your product specification and target sachet dimensions.

Which filling system do I need — piston pump, auger, or volumetric cup?

Filling system is chosen by product type. Piston pump is correct for free-flowing liquids and semi-viscous sauces: ketchup, jam, honey, hot sauce, salad dressing. Auger screw is correct for dry powders and fine-grain products: instant coffee, sugar, MSG, seasoning powder, pharmaceutical powder. Volumetric cup is correct for free-flowing granules with uniform particle size: salt, sugar crystals, seasoning granules. The module is installed at time of order; changing between dosing families later requires a factory upgrade. Send us a sample of your product so we can recommend the right configuration.

What film materials are compatible?

The SW-A6 is compatible with OPP/CPP (most common for food-grade sachets), PET/PE (higher heat resistance), NYLON/PE (oxygen barrier for coffee and condiments), aluminum foil laminate (for light-sensitive or oxygen-sensitive products like pharmaceutical powder), and plain PE. Temperature and dwell time are adjustable per sealing zone on the HMI, so the machine can be tuned for different film structures. We recommend sending a sample of your rollstock film for a sealing parameter test before production.

How accurate is the fill across all six lanes?

For free-flowing liquids and powders with consistent density, lane-to-lane fill variance is typically within ±1–2%. Accuracy depends on product uniformity (suspension solids, foaming, air entrapment all affect pump accuracy), dosing system selection, and how stably the product reservoir is fed. Highly viscous or non-Newtonian products will show more lane variance. For tighter accuracy requirements, a checkweigher can be added downstream — quoted as an add-on at time of order.

Can voltage and HMI language be customized?

Yes. Standard voltage is 380V three-phase 50/60 Hz, which suits most industrial installations. Other voltage configurations are available on request with an upstream transformer. The touch screen HMI supports English, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, French, and other languages on request — specify at time of order. Both voltage and language should be confirmed before we begin production. Language changes after shipment are possible via remote firmware update in most cases.

What warranty and after-sales support is included?

Two-year warranty on manufacturing defects under normal operation and maintenance. Wear parts (sealing strips, heating elements, cutting knives, pump seals) are excluded from warranty. Spare parts ship from our Guangdong factory within 3 working days. Remote video technical support via WhatsApp or video call is free for the lifetime of the machine — not limited to the warranty period. On-site installation and operator training are available on request; travel costs quoted separately. Multi-lane machines benefit from on-site commissioning more than single-lane machines because initial lane balancing is easier with an engineer present.

What is the lead time and payment terms?

Standard lead time is 30–45 working days after deposit confirmation, longer than a single-lane machine because six-lane forming tubes and dosing manifolds are produced to your exact specification. Payment: 30% deposit on order, 70% balance before shipment (T/T). Custom configurations — non-standard voltage, special HMI language, factory-installed add-ons such as metal detector or nitrogen flush — may add 5–10 working days. Contact us with your requirements for a confirmed production schedule.

Can I send a product sample for a packing test?

Yes — and we strongly recommend this for multi-lane machines. Ship a sample of your product (500 ml liquid or 500 g powder/granule minimum) and your rollstock film (or a film specification sheet with the same structure) to our Shantou factory. We will run a packing test on a demo SW-A6, record a video of six-lane running behavior, and share results with recommended sealing parameters, fill volume settings, and estimated production speed for your specific product. This is the most reliable way to confirm machine suitability before committing to an order. Contact us for shipping instructions.
